Pediatric dentistry is a branch of dentistry that focuses on the oral health of children. It helps children grow into the smile they deserve. A pediatric dentist usually sees a child when they are around 1 year old and they continue seeing them until they are a teen. Our dentist, Dr. Barrie Suzanne Zweier, helps your child through the teething phase, the losing baby teeth phase, and the permanent teeth phase.

As your child grows, our dentist happily provides many dental treatments to help them have a top-notch oral health. Some of those treatments include dental cleanings, dental exams, dental sealants, emergency care, restorative treatments, habit counseling, early assessment and treatment regarding misaligned teeth, and more. With the help of pediatric dentistry and your dentist, your child can have strong and healthy teeth and gums.

It’s important to bring your child into our office for their first appointment six months after their first tooth erupts or around their first birthday. Bringing them in at an early age can help your child feel comfortable in the dental chair and familiar with our dental team. Then, throughout their life, it’s best to bring them in every six months for their routine dental cleaning and exam so we can keep their smile in top-notch condition.
